Umberto Cesino
Umberto Cesino was born in Castellammare di Stabia, Naples, Italy, in 1951. Painter, sculptor, photographer, illustrator. Among his works of major importance is the bronze sculpture of the monument of the Emigrant, situated at the entrance to the town of San Mango on the Calore in the province of Avellino. His artworks are exposed in “La Pergola” Gallery in Florence. His paintings vary from the figure, to landscape using various techniques: tempera, oil, mixed media, etc.. He has executed numerous murals, trompe l'oleil , in public localities and private houses, among which is a composition in the Council Chamber of the town of Boscotrecase. His works are to be found in many private collections. Among his most significant graphic work there are plates of the reconstruction of archaeological monument from Pompei, Herculaneum, Capri and Sorrento, realized in collaboration with his son Joseph. They have been published as transparencies in the book "Pompei" by the editor d’ Oriano. A painting , “ S. Catello’s come back”, is in Cathedral of Castellammare di Stabia (NA).
